Terms of Use

1. Agreement and provider

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern Remote for Samsung TV on Android (package com.makeevapps.remote.samsung) and iOS (bundle ID com.makeevapps.remote.samsung.ios), together the "App". The App is provided by MakeevApps s.r.o., IČO 24428582, DIČ CZ24428582, Kaprova 42/14, 110 00 Praha 1, Czech Republic ("MakeevApps", "we", "us", or "our").

By installing, purchasing, or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use it. Mandatory consumer rights remain in effect.

2. Eligibility

You must be legally capable of accepting these Terms. If you are a minor, a parent or guardian must review and accept them where required by law and supervise your use. You may use the App only where lawful.

3. Limited license

On Android, subject to these Terms and Google Play rules, MakeevApps grants you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use the App on compatible devices you own or control for lawful purposes. You receive a license to use the App, not ownership of its software or source code. On iOS, Apple's Standard End User License Agreement governs the license obtained through the App Store; these Terms apply where consistent with that agreement and applicable law.

4. Acceptable use

• Control only televisions and networks you own or are authorized to use, and obtain any required consent from other users.
• Do not use the App to disrupt another person's TV, network, or device, gain unauthorized access, or violate applicable law.
• Do not bypass technical protections, interfere with the App, distribute malware, or misuse purchases or promotions.
• Do not copy, sell, sublicense, reverse engineer, or extract the App's source code except to the extent applicable law permits.
• Do not suggest an affiliation with MakeevApps or Samsung that does not exist.

5. TV connection and limitations

The App discovers and controls compatible TVs through your local network. Your phone and TV normally must use the same Wi-Fi network. A TV may ask you to approve pairing. Features such as power on, text input, app launching, and mirroring may vary by model, firmware, network setup, and platform. Some features may invoke functions supplied by your device or TV rather than the App itself.

We do not guarantee compatibility with every Samsung TV, continuous connection, or availability of every feature. Samsung, your TV manufacturer, Apple, Google, and network providers may change their software or services outside our control. The App is not a safety or emergency service.

6. Purchases, trials, and subscriptions

• The App may offer subscriptions or a one-time purchase. The price, billing period, included features, and any trial terms are shown in the store offer before you confirm a purchase.
• Android purchases are processed through Google Play; iOS purchases are processed through Apple's App Store. Purchase access may be restored through the same store account and platform, subject to store rules. A purchase on one platform is not automatically transferable to the other.
• Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled before renewal under the store's rules. A free trial, if offered, may convert to a paid subscription unless cancelled before it ends.
• Manage or cancel an Android subscription through Google Play subscriptions; manage or cancel an iOS subscription through Apple subscriptions or your Apple Account settings. Uninstalling the App does not cancel a subscription.
• Refunds, taxes, currency conversion, and price changes are handled under the applicable store's rules and mandatory consumer law. MakeevApps does not receive your full payment-card details.

7. Privacy and permissions

Our Privacy Policy explains data handling. TV connection details and preferences are stored on your device, while limited TV characteristics and connection outcomes may be included in Firebase Analytics events. The App needs local-network access to find and control TVs. iOS may request local-network permission; Android uses network access for the same purpose. You can manage applicable permissions in system settings, but denying them may prevent relevant features from working. No MakeevApps account is required.

8. Third-party services

The App relies on Google Play or Apple's App Store for purchases, Firebase for analytics and crash diagnostics, and your device, TV, and network for remote-control features. Their own terms and privacy policies apply to their services. We are not responsible for third-party outages, store account decisions, changes, or restrictions outside our reasonable control.

9. Intellectual property

The App, its original design, code, documentation, and MakeevApps branding belong to MakeevApps or its licensors. Samsung names and marks belong to their respective owners and are used only to describe compatibility. Third-party components are governed by their own licenses, summarized in our Third-Party Notices.

10. Updates and changes to the App

We may update, change, or discontinue features and end support for devices or operating-system versions. Some updates may be needed for security or compatibility. We will give notice of material changes where reasonably practicable or legally required.

11. Ending use

You may stop using and uninstall the App at any time. You can remove saved TVs in the App where available or clear local App data in device settings. Uninstalling the App does not automatically cancel a store subscription; follow Section 6 to cancel it.

12. Warranties and liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law, the App is provided "as is" and "as available". We do not promise uninterrupted operation, error-free performance, or compatibility with all TVs and networks. Nothing here excludes warranties or remedies that mandatory consumer law provides.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, MakeevApps is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, lost profits, data, or opportunities, or problems caused by third-party systems. Nothing in these Terms limits liability or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including mandatory consumer rights.

13. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by Czech law, excluding conflict-of-law rules. Czech courts have jurisdiction except where mandatory consumer law lets you bring or defend a claim in the courts of your habitual residence or gives you other protections. Please contact us first so we can try to resolve a concern.

14. General terms

These Terms and the Privacy Policy govern your use of the App alongside the purchase terms shown by the relevant store. If one provision is unenforceable, the remainder continues. A delay in enforcing a right is not a waiver. We may revise these Terms; the current version and effective date will be posted here, with additional notice where required by law. Continued use after a change constitutes acceptance only to the extent permitted by applicable law.
