Privacy at a glance
- The app works without a MakeevApps account. TV discovery and remote commands use your local network.
- TV connection details and preferences are stored on your device; limited TV characteristics are also included in analytics events.
- Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics help us understand app use and fix problems. Purchases are handled by Google Play or Apple's App Store.
- We do not use an advertising SDK, display third-party ads, or sell personal data.
1. Who we are and scope
The controller responsible for this Policy is MakeevApps s.r.o., IČO 24428582, DIČ CZ24428582, Kaprova 42/14, 110 00 Praha 1, Czech Republic ("MakeevApps", "we", "us", or "our").
This Policy applies to Remote for Samsung TV on Android (package com.makeevapps.remote.samsung) and iOS (bundle ID com.makeevapps.remote.samsung.ios), together referred to as the "App".
2. Information processed outside your device
The following information is sent to service providers or provided to us when you contact support. TV connection details stored locally are described in Section 3.
| Category and examples | Source | Use and typical retention |
|---|---|---|
| Analytics and usage. Firebase app-instance identifier, device and app information, screen and feature events, TV brand/model and connection outcome, remote button events, keyboard length range and language, offer views, purchase events, and related timestamps. | Google Analytics for Firebase in the Android and iOS apps. | Measure use, identify failures, and improve the App. Event-level retention follows the configured Firebase/Google Analytics settings; aggregated reports may remain longer. We do not intentionally send the text you type into the TV keyboard, your TV's local IP address, or its pairing token as analytics event parameters. |
| Crash and diagnostic data. Crash traces, technical error details, app state, device and operating-system information, installation identifiers, and timestamps. | Firebase Crashlytics and app error reporting. | Diagnose and fix defects. Firebase describes a 90-day retention period for Crashlytics event data before removal begins. |
| Purchase and subscription data. Product and transaction identifiers, purchase status, renewal or entitlement state, and offer information. | Google Play Billing or Apple StoreKit when you make or restore a purchase. | Provide and restore paid features, handle support, and meet accounting or legal obligations. Google or Apple processes your payment details; we do not receive your full payment-card number. |
| Support communications. Email address, message, attachments, and diagnostic details you choose to send. | Directly from you when you contact us. | Reply to requests and resolve problems; kept for as long as reasonably necessary for support, legal obligations, or claims. |
Network and service requests may expose your public IP address to the receiving service provider. An IP address can sometimes suggest a general area.
3. Local network and TV data
The App searches for compatible televisions and sends control commands over the local network. Your phone and TV generally need to be on the same Wi-Fi network. Some TVs require you to approve the connection on the TV screen.
To reconnect to your TV and remember your choices, the App stores its name, brand, model, local IP address, network identifiers, and pairing token where required, along with favorite TV apps, remote settings, and local purchase-access state on your device. Operating-system backups may retain a separate copy. TV brand/model and connection outcomes may also be sent to Firebase Analytics as described in Section 2.
The App does not require a MakeevApps account and does not operate a MakeevApps cloud account or TV-control server. TV and network manufacturers may process information under their own policies. The App does not intentionally upload your TV's local IP address or pairing token to MakeevApps as part of normal remote operation.
4. Purposes and legal bases
- Performance of a contract: provide remote-control features, local TV pairing, purchases, restoration of access, and requested support.
- Legitimate interests: limited analytics, crash diagnosis, reliability, security, fraud prevention, and improvement of the App, balanced against your rights.
- Legal obligations and claims: accounting and tax records, lawful requests, and establishing or defending legal claims.
- Permission or consent where required: access to the local network and any optional system-controlled capability. You can change relevant permissions in Android or iOS settings.
We do not display third-party ads, integrate an ad network SDK, sell personal data, or use App data for targeted advertising.
5. Service providers and disclosure
- Google/Firebase: Analytics and Crashlytics on Android and iOS; Google Play Billing on Android.
- Apple: App Store and StoreKit purchases on iOS.
- Hosting and support providers: to deliver the product page, legal pages, and support communications.
- Authorities and professional advisers: when required by law or reasonably necessary to protect rights and resolve claims.
We share only information relevant to the stated service. We do not provide customer lists to data brokers. In a business transfer, data may be transferred where permitted by law and subject to appropriate safeguards.
6. International transfers
MakeevApps is established in the Czech Republic. Google, Apple, and other providers may process information outside your country, including in the United States. Where required, we rely on an adequacy decision, Standard Contractual Clauses, or another lawful transfer mechanism. See Firebase privacy information for details of its processing.
7. Retention and deletion
Local TV data and preferences remain until you remove them in the App where available, clear the App's data, or uninstall it. Android or iOS backups may retain a separate copy according to your backup settings. Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics data follow the provider's retention settings and may remain after you uninstall the App. Google Play and Apple manage transaction histories under their own policies. If you contact support, we keep your correspondence only as long as needed to answer you or meet legal obligations.
8. Security
We use technical and organizational measures appropriate to the risks of processing. No system is completely secure. Protect access to your phone, TV, and Wi-Fi network. Pair only with TVs you are authorized to control.
9. Your choices and privacy rights
You can control local-network access in iOS settings, manage applicable Android permissions in system settings, remove saved TVs in the App where available, clear local App data, and manage Google or Apple privacy and backup settings. Disabling network access may prevent TV discovery or control.
There is no MakeevApps account to delete. The App does not link Firebase Analytics or Crashlytics identifiers to your email address, so we cannot locate those records from an email address alone.
Where applicable, privacy law gives you rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or transfer personal data, object to its processing, and withdraw consent where processing relies on it. For support messages or other information we can identify, contact remote.tv.control.app@gmail.com. You may also complain to a competent data-protection authority, including the Czech Office for Personal Data Protection (ÚOOÚ).
10. Children
The App is not directed to children under 13. Minors should use it with permission and supervision of a parent or guardian where required by law. If you believe a child supplied personal data to us without valid authorization, contact us.
11. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy if the App, its providers, or legal requirements change. The current version and effective date will remain at this URL. We will provide additional notice of material changes where required by law.
